Today I left Fernie and drove south back into the USA. I entered at Montana and drove south through a couple of very nice towns, Kalispell, Whitefish and Flathead Lake.

As I drove south from Fernie to Missoula, I had heard there was a heard of Bison in a nearby area. I decided to take a detour and see how many there were.
On my drive in to see them I spotted this Mother Osprey in her nest, obviously she had chicks in the nest.

A few minutes later the chicks popped up and began to exercise their wings. They'll probably be ready to fly in a couple of weeks.

I spent Sunday night in Missoula, MT and today drove south from Missoula to Bozeman. I'm staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bozeman.

Today I fished the Boulder River with Dennis Alverson. Dennis and I have fished together for the past 3 years. The Boulder River is located about 65 miles southeast of Bozeman near Big Timber, MT. As you can see, the Boulder River is very appropriately named.

We floated the Boulder River in Dennis's very small raft. The river was very small and there were several areas of white water, which made our float wet and wild.

I took today off from fishing because I'm still not feeling well. I've been sick since I arrived in British Columbia. I decided to go for a drive looking for wildlife. It started out as a short drive but turned out to be a 350 mile adventure.

I drove up and over the Beartooth Mountains. There is a vista point at 11,000 feet elevation. It was way above the tree line and there was still quite a bit of snow. The view was magnificient.

The other day Dennis and I were talking about Antelope. Today he was nice enough to bring a couple of Antelope steaks to cook for lunch. The Antelope was fantastic, the best red meat I've ever tasted and very nicely prepared by Chef Dennis.

Today Dennis and I fished the Stillwater River which is about 95 miles southeast of Bozeman. This is the view from our lunch spot. The Stillwater River was not at all still, we had some areas of whitewater which made the float wet and wild again and again in the little raft.
