The Hotel I'm staying at for 2 nights, until my Condo is ready, is quite a step up from the Log Cabin I stayed in at The Slide Inn in MT. This is The Hotel Terra which is a "green, eco-friendly" hotel. It was really beautiful and comfortable. It is also located at the base of the ski run. You can actually walk out the back door and climb on the gondola to go up to the top of the mountain to ski in the winter.

Saturday, August 16, 2008

This is the view from the back of the hotel with the Gondola going up to the top of the ski slopes.

Sunday, August 17, 2008

Today was a rest day, so I decided to drive around Jackson. I wanted to look for wildlife in an area north of town in the Grand Teton National Park. I also stopped by down town to buy a fishing license and see the sights.

After returning from the Hoback River I checked into the Condo I'll be staying in for the next week.

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

Relaxed and rested and got ready to fish the South Fork of the Snake River in Idaho tomorrow.

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

Drove to Victor, Idaho to World Cast Anglers to join Keith Smith for a fishing trip on the South Fork of the Snake River in Idaho.

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

I had a wonderful day floating the South Fork of the Snake River. This is an absolutely beautiful river. We arrived very early so it felt like we had the river all to ourselves. We fished from 8:30 to 6:30. Caught lot's and lot's of big fish on very small dry flies. Today we mostly used a size 18 PMD with a size 20 PMD emerger as a trailer.

Thursday, August 21, 2008

Tonight I had dinner with Greg Falk of Upstream Anglers and Outdoor Adventures. I've been fishing with Greg for about 12 years now. We've had lot's of adventures together and he's become a great friend.

Friday, August 22, 2008

Today I fished the Snake River just south of Jackson, WY with Greg. We floated a 12-mile section of the river, it's the same section we've floated for 12 years. It was an absolutely beautiful day, sunny and warm, with almost no wind. We got on the river by 8:30 am and fished until dark, which came at about 8:30 pm. This river has the most beautiful views of the Tetons.

Friday, August 22, 2008

Here's the view from our lunch stop.

Friday, August 22, 2008

Here's the other view.

Friday, August 22, 2008

Jackson had a huge snowfall this winter which meant that the river was sill flowing very high from all of the snow melt!! This meant that the fishing was slow, but I still managed to catch a few nice fish. Most of all it was a great day out on the Sanke River.

Friday, August 22, 2008

Friday, August 22, 2008

One of the other wonderful things about the Snake River is all of the wildlife. I always look forward to seeing the Bald Eagles. There were also several Ospreys that were busy fishing all around us.

Friday, August 22, 2008

Here's a juvenile Bald Eagle that was sitting on a log near us.

Friday, August 22, 2008

Of course, it's parent was in a tree on the other side of the river keeping an eye on it.
