Today I commuted from Jackson Hole to Swan Valley, ID to fish the South Fork of the Snake River with Stacey Hill of South Fork Outfitters. I fished with Stacey last summer too. This was probably the best fishing day of my entire trip. The weather was perfect. The river and surrounding scenery was absolutely beautiful. We fished the section of the South Fork of the Snake River called "The Canyon". The river flowed through this very deep, canyon, with high, high walls. I caught fish all day long, it was just non-stop. Caught 50 or so.

Today I checked out of the Condo and left Jackson Hole and drove to Swan Valley, ID to fish with Stacey of South Fork Outfitters again.

We fished the upper section of the South Fork of the Snake River today. This is where Palasides Reservoir empties into the South Fork of the Snake. It was very cold and windy when we began which made the fishing slow until things warmed up.

Yesterday I told Stacey about Dennis from Montana cooking Antelope steaks for lunch and Stacey decided to do one better and cook marinated Elk steaks for lunch. He shot the Elk last winter. They tasted great !!

Vice President Dick Cheney decided to come fly fishing on the same section of the river that we were fishing which was quite annoying. Here he is being flown in from his home in Jackson Hole. There was also a 2nd helicopter as well as a couple of Sheriffs jet boats, an ambulance and about a dozen Secret Service agents in boats along the river. This made the river very crowded for a couple hours during the day and especially at the end of he day when he was picked up at the same place we landed the boat.

It was another great day of fishing on the river. At the end of the day I began my trip home and drove to Idaho Falls.

I left Idaho Falls and began the long drive through southern Idaho and through the Nevada desert to Elko, NV. I'm spending the night in Elko, NV.
